The World Through Your Eyes, 2005
Photographic Project
I sent out hand painted disposable cameras to gay men I met online as an invitation to share things in their life with me. It was used as a way to deepen an understanding of how I can see and explore their world and experiences. In the beginning of this project I never met these men, but over the years I got to meet some of them and take part in their lives and experiences, someimes finding commonalities, other times finding disparaging differences. The camera's were mailed back to me undeveloped and they never got to see the pictures developed - in a way becoming a time capsule for their own life. So the project develops further through this open exhibition as a way to strengthen relationships to the world around us, inviting all of us to see an intimate world unraveling in its beauty, simplicity, and candor.
