I wear pins and clothes to make statements that align with my political beliefs in social justice and to honor the history and legacies of people, experiences, and communities. The pins on display are selected from my personal archive and just a few of the phrases and organizations and ideals I would like to believe in as well as also being historic markers for change. They are a wall of resistance in the face of oppression. Some of these pins I have made myself. Some of these pins ideas can be taken a bit further and were made from a certain time and place. They share my beliefs in a possible future of social justice and human rights. Some pins are of exhibitions. Some pins are taken from organizations that further a specific community and social justice. Some of these pins are just funny or statements of identity and part of a secret club. I like the way I can weave in and out of these narratives and also make a statement and intentions. This is part of an ongoing collection of creating growth, support, and resilience when faced with challenging times…
